Thai Boxing is a fast, powerful sport that is great for self defense. It uses western boxing + kicking, elbows, knees and stand-up grappling.
It can see you through a lot of self defense situations and can improve self confidence as well as your fitness, it is also the system of choice for the stand-up training of MMA fighters.
Firstly if you are a complete beginner PLEASE read the beginners section.
I have 14 years experience in thaiboxing and have spent 3 years training in Thailand, when you train with me you will see that this shows pretty quickly.
My padwork, once developed with you, is almost like sparring and allows you to partially pick the shots you throw.
You will get the benefit of all of this and get fluid and fast techniques with lots of power. I can analyze technique into full detail to see exactly where any problem is. By making small corrections all over, extra power can be developed.
Why private lessons?
What can you get from private lessons that you cant get from group lessons? You can learn much faster. Why? Because you have the trainers undivided attention, everything can be explained in detail and you can ask as many questions as you want. Its the smart way to learn to box.
Not fit?
If you arent fit it does NOT matter. Because the lessons are private they are entirely tailored to your level and ability, you will be pushed but it will only be what is within your reach. As you get better and fitter you will be pushed much harder but you will be ready and wanting to by then.
Do not be scared, lessons are taken gradually and build up over time, as a beginner you are treated as such, there is really nothing to be worried about.
How lessons are taught
Lessons revolve around technique and advanced,highly dynamic padwork that simulates fighting to a good degree. You should be aware that with a sport like thai boxing injuries can sometimes occur, particularly hand/arm injuries.
How far you take your training is entirely up to you, some people want nothing more than a good, thai boxing style workout. Others want to train like a fighter.
